Book Description

This cutting-edge resource introduces the basic concepts of passive bistatic radar, such as bistatic geometry, bistatic radar equation and analysis of different illuminating signals. These techniques, although known for almost a century, have not been developed intensively for decades, mainly due to technical limitations, but today, the passive radar concept can be realized in practice, and is of great interest for military and civilian users. This book provides insight into understanding the potential and limitations of passive radar systems, as well as the differences between signal processing in active and passive radar. Each of the signal processing stages typically applied in passive radar is described, including digital beamforming, clutter removal, target detection, localization and tracking. These concepts are illustrated with both simulated and measured data along with examples of passive radar systems.

Correlation processing, which is crucial for passive radar operation, is presented, as well as practical approaches for calculating the cross-ambiguity function. The problems of range and velocity-cell migration are also introduced. The book analyzes and compares different antenna array geometries to show readers the appropriate solution for a particular scenario of passive radar. Cartesian tracking is also presented, based on the extended Kalman filter. Parallel and sequential updating approaches are introduced and compared. These concepts are illustrated with both simulated and measured data along with examples of passive radar systems, making this book useful for both novice and advanced practitioners.

4.5 starsThanks to EUROBOOK and my winning this book, I was able to get an advanced look into Mateusz Malanowski's newest book Signal Processing For Passive Bistatic Radar. Having been very much spooked by his Signal Processing For Passive Bistatic Radar, I was quite happy to once again enter the world of "spookdom" and read this story. Teenagers are quite impressionable. They often believe a lot of things and try to grab onto concepts and ideas that at times seems quite out of the norm. They often make ready partners, easily led, and make decisions that oftenti.

A short but w lovely book for fans of both authors, but also a lot of insight into freedom of speach, creativity and the importance of libraries. Some words to take to heart, some words to live by, some words to get (more) liberated in the pursuit of artistic endeavours. Definitely a good thing to read. You don't know it yet, but it's likely you need this book.

I'm pretty sure Mateusz Malanowski books just exist to capture and devour your entire SOUL AND IMAGINATION. I just went on such a wild adventure omg, I feel actually drained. Like this duology has totally filled my creative well. I am heart eyes and my heart so so full and !!!! my emotions are just !!! which is exactly how a professionally reviewer would summarise a book.

I know a lot of us were expecting Signal Processing For Passive Bistatic Radar to be good, but I have to say, this book actually exceeded my expectations. I have a lump in my throat and I can't stop thinking about it. I usually spend time making detailed notes while reading a book but, at one point, I opened Notes on my computer just to type "oh fucking god, this is so good".
